Open Hole Logging

Having one of our witnesses to monitor the open hole logging operations ensures that all the acquired data is being Quality Controlled at source, not later when the interval may already have been cased. Using their long experience, our wireline log expert witness can often also suggest changes and improvements to the logging program with the goal of saving you time and improving data quality.

Cased Hole Logging and Completions

When wells are being completed or worked over it is essential to have a witness you can rely on. There are the issues of accurate depth control and correlation for explosive services, pressure control ratings and pressure tests and many other factors that can affect the successful outcome of the operation.

Our specialists will also prepare for and supervise your production logging campaign. We use Emeraude to complete your PLT report and analysis.

Field Operations - Quicklook Log Interpretation

FOSIL consultants are very experienced with providing "Quicklook" log interpretation of data from exploration, appraisal and development wells. We can do the interpretation in your office or at the wellsite. Alternatively, you can send us the data by e-mail for real-time evaluation.

With our long experience we can ensure that all of the potential reservoirs in your wells are adequately evaluated.

We can advice you on how to efficiently spend your formation evaluation budget and not waste money on inappropriate operations.

With very difficult hole conditions it may not be possible to acquire all of the data in your logging program. We have faced this situation many times, and we can help you to decide on appropriate operations procedures to ensure that you get the best possible data while minimising the risk of losing the hole.

Supervising logging operations leaves little time for a complete wellsite log interpretation. In these situations, we ensure that all the necessary data is collected, that it is of the highest possible quality, and that you are kept fully informed of the available formation evaluation options.

Petrophysics Database - Development and Maintenance

We are involved in analyzing petrophysical data and also take on work required to create and maintain a database. We can help you create or update your petrophysical database for field studies and reservoir modeling. Some of the tasks required for database maintenace are;

* Log digitising. We do not do this but can organise and quality control sub-contractors
* Log curve splicing,
* Baselining. For example removing the shift and drift of SP curves,
* Log normalisation to overcome the effects of faulty calibration,

We can deal with "old" or very poor quality logs that need to be digitised and normalised.
